(un)rest, 2004. (3 channel video + 9 channel sound installation, fabric, feathers, metal wire, electronics). 10’ x 8’.
(un)rest is a 9 channels sound and 3 channels video sculpture, exploring the triggers for self-renovation, placing its emphasis in the process of transformation. It is a cycle of doing and undoing. It is not a specific moment or instance, but a continuous process, where the emphasis is in the procedure or ritual and the recognition or self-awareness of the process taking place.
The videos and sounds in the installation are neither abstracts nor narratives, but suggestions of continuous and repetitive procedures, labor-intensive processes, with emphasis in intimacy within the collective; they talk about repetition, memories and fractures.
